Our service
What does your cat sitting service include?
Our cat sitting service provides attentive, personalised care for your cat while you’re away. Visits include feeding and fresh water, litter tray cleaning, medication administration (if needed), cleaning feeding areas and cat-related messes, plus playtime, grooming, and affection if your cat enjoys it. We also carry out visual health and wellbeing checks and send regular updates and photos for peace of mind.
We can also help care for your home during your absence by bringing in post and parcels, putting bins out, opening or closing curtains and blinds, adjusting lights, watering indoor or patio plants, and feeding fish.
Do you offer home visits or overnight stays?
We offer flexible home visit options to suit your cat’s needs. You can choose from once daily visits (20 – 30 minutes each morning or evening), twice daily visits (our most popular option, with both morning and evening visits), or custom visit schedules including additional daytime visits or extended visits over 30 minutes.
At this time, we provide home visits only and do not offer overnight stays.
Which areas do you cover?
We provide visits within a 4-mile radius of Lower Quinton, including: Long Marston, Pebworth, Welford-on-Avon, Clifford Chambers, Alderminster, Newbold-on-Stour, Ilmington, and Mickleton. We can sometimes accommodate visits outside of this area for which we charge a mileage fee.
Find our service area map here.
Do you offer a meet-and-greet before booking?
Yes. We offer a complimentary meet-and-greet for all new customers, which must be completed at least 48 hours before your first booking.
The meet-and-greet is a short visit that gives us the chance to meet you and your cat, learn their routine, and help everyone feel comfortable before care begins. We’ll discuss feeding routines, litter care, medication requirements, favourite toys, personality traits, and any special habits or behaviours. We’ll also go over home access arrangements, your preferences, and answer any questions you may have.
This visit helps ensure your cat receives calm, familiar, and personalised care from the very beginning.
How many visits per day does my cat need?
The number of visits your cat needs depends on their personality, age, health, and routine. Many cats are comfortable with one daily visit, while others benefit from twice daily visits for extra companionship, feeding routines, medication, or reassurance.
We generally recommend twice daily visits for elderly cats, cats with medical needs, or cats that enjoy more interaction. For kittens under 6 months old, we recommend care arrangements that avoid leaving them alone for more than 4 – 5 hours at a time. We also recommend twice daily visits for cats whose owners are away for longer than one week, as the extra contact and monitoring can help maintain their routine and wellbeing. During your meet-and-greet, we’re happy to discuss your cat’s individual needs and help you choose the most suitable visit schedule.
Your cat's care
Can you administer medication?
Yes, we can administer most medications. Please let us know your cat’s specific requirements before booking so we can discuss their needs and ensure we’re able to provide the appropriate care safely and comfortably.
Will my cat get one-on-one attention?
Absolutely. Each visit is dedicated to your cat’s needs – whether that’s playtime, affection, or simply quiet company. In multi-cat households, we ensure individual attention.
What if my cat is shy or hides?
That’s completely normal. We’re experienced with nervous cats and will never force interaction – patience and calm care are key. If your cat hides, we’ll quietly check on their wellbeing, making sure they’re safe, comfortable, and have everything they need, while keeping you updated after each visit.
Can you care for kittens or senior cats?
Yes. We’re happy to care for kittens, senior cats, and cats with additional care needs. We understand that younger and older cats often require extra attention, monitoring, and routine support while you’re away.
For kittens under 6 months old, we recommend care arrangements that avoid leaving them alone for more than 4 – 5 hours at a time. Senior cats may also benefit from more frequent visits, particularly if they require medication, mobility support, or closer wellbeing monitoring.
During your meet-and-greet, we’ll discuss your cat’s routine, personality, and any specific care requirements to make sure they receive the most suitable care possible.
Can you manage special diets or feeding routines?
Of course. We follow your exact instructions to keep your cat’s routine consistent. We are comfortable following detailed feeding instructions, including allergies, intolerances, portion control, raw/fresh food diets, and routine-specific feeding times. We understand the importance of consistency and careful monitoring, and happily to adapt to each cat’s individual needs.
Will I receive updates while I’m away?
Yes. We send regular updates with photos and messages so you can relax knowing your cat is happy and well cared for.
Trust & safety
Are you insured and DBS checked?
Yes. Staycation Cat Care is fully insured, including public liability insurance and care, custody, and control cover. In addition, all sitters working on behalf of Staycation Cat Care hold a current and valid Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
How do you handle keys and home security?
We take home security very seriously. Keys are stored securely and are never labelled with your address. We can securely store your key for future visits, or return it to you if you prefer. During visits, we always ensure your home is left secure, including locking doors and windows before we leave. For added peace of mind, we do not use branded uniforms or vehicles, helping to keep visits discreet and your absence less obvious.
What happens in an emergency?
In the event of an emergency, we will contact you straight away. If we can’t reach you, we will get in touch with your nominated emergency contact or your registered vet using the details you’ve provided, so your cat can receive the appropriate care as quickly as possible.
What if you’re unable to attend a visit?
In the unlikely event that we are unable to attend a visit, we will let you know straight away. We also have contingency plans in place to ensure your cat’s care is not affected.
